Summary of events
The July meeting was opened, with introductions to include the expanded WILD team:
- This was followed by a session of relaxation with psychotherapist – Paul Hancock.
There was a mixed audience, with people who followed up later on their own, finding benefit in using Paul’s services.
- Chris Brown walked through a tour of the WILDsupport website showing the new improved site. With the request that all attendees register on line as soon as possible.
- An excellent double presentation on what is ILD and then what drugs do we use accordingly, was presented by the consultants, Sophie Fletcher and Katherine Spinks.
This was very comprehensive and generated a lot of interest especially with newly diagnosed attendees, answering many questions.
- The last session of the day was the separated Patient and Carers Focus Groups, including an introduction and guidance for new joiners.
Due to the previous ILD and Drugs presentation, questions were less than in previous sessions as many had been answered, this allowed the Carers meeting to be highly beneficial on multiple other topics.
The Patients session was equally successful and also managed to get onto future topics of interest!
